Anith Mathai, Graduate Student
Anith Mathai is an graduate student in the biomedical engineering M.S. program, where he works with Dr. Nicole Grosland developing fast finite element algorithms to predict joint failure for the Digital Humans Lab. He has a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras, Vellore Institute of Technology, where, under Dr. S. Narayanan, he designed a graphical user interface for the RT-100 light industrial robot. After working for almost two years in the banking industry in India, he made the long journey halfway around the world to the University of Iowa (which is home now) from the southern Indian City of Vellore (a very small Indian City). He loves Batman comics and swimming, and he tries really hard to play the guitar!
