| Validation The
Fundamentals: While our models are physics based and task-based they depend on sound
mathematical formulations. Validation is a key aspect of all predictions performed
by our real-time simulation code.
There are three levels of validation:
I. Introductory validation: Performed by our researchers. If it looks wrong
it probably is.
II. Intermediate validation: Performed in-house and in our Motion Capture laboratory.
This involves experimental studies with a number of subjects.
III. Statistical validation studies: These are population studies that are
conducted either elsewhere on campus (e.g., college of medicine), partner universities
(e.g., Mississippi State University Center for Advanced Vehicular Structures) and the US
Military (e.g., US Army Natick).
