Xianlian (Alex) Zhou, Graduate Student
Xianlian Zhou is now a graduate student in mechanical engineering and working under the guidance of Prof. Jia Lu. He received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China, with a background in digital human modeling and simulation. Mr. Zhou's research focuses on computational biomechanics and FEM. For the VSR project, he will be working on the modeling and real-time simulation of major skeletal muscle motion. Specifically, he will be developing physiologically relevant constitutive models for active contraction of skeletal muscles, and at the same time, developing a novel finite element procedure to facilitate real-time simulation.
